I. Introduction
Morris Brown College is seeking the services of an experienced consultant to assist in our reaffirmation of accreditation process. The selected consultant will provide comprehensive support, including document review, strategic guidance, and tailored presentations to key stakeholders. This engagement aims to ensure full compliance with all accreditation standards, minimize risks, and successfully achieve ten-year reaffirmation with zero findings or recommendations.
II. Background
Morris Brown College was founded on Christian principles in 1881 by the African Methodist Episcopal Church and is chartered by the State of Georgia as a private, coeducational, liberal arts college engaged in teaching, research, and public service in the arts, humanities, social and natural sciences and professional programs.
The mission of Morris Brown College is to provide educational opportunities in a positive and nurturing environment that will enable its students to become fully functional persons in our global society. The College prepares graduates to live meaningful and rewarding lives, thereby enabling them to make socially constructive and culturally relevant contributions to society.

After three years of diligent restructuring under new leadership, Morris Brown College achieved a historic milestone: securing state approval and full accreditation from the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS). The institution met the rigorous standards required to be recognized as a quality educational entity. Following an evaluation by an on-site peer review team, it was determined that Morris Brown College offers sound instruction and appropriate student services. As a result, the college became eligible to apply to the U.S. Department of Education for participation in federal financial aid programs and Title IV funding, which was restored in December 2021 after nearly two decades. This milestone marked a pivotal moment for our students and the broader mission of the college.
Today, the students of Morris Brown College are deeply engaged in their educational pursuits, embodying entrepreneurial spirit and pride in our tradition of academic excellence. They are guided by a faculty renowned for their expertise in teaching, research, and pragmatic education.
III. Purpose
The purpose of this RFP is to solicit proposals from qualified consultants with experience in accreditation approval and/or reaffirmation. The selected consultant will work closely with the institution's leadership, accreditation team, and key stakeholders to provide strategic support and ensure a compelling case for reaccreditation.
IV. Scope of Services
The selected consultant will be responsible for the following services:
- Comprehensive Narrative & Evidence Review
- Presentation to the Board of Trustees to include initial overview, midpoint check-in, and final overview prior to accreditor campus visit
- Consultations with self-study writers
- Develop a detailed, step-by-step roadmap for reaffirmation.
- Provide support and consultation to prepare for the evaluation team visit.
V. Proposal Requirements
Interested consultants should submit a detailed proposal addressing the following:
- Experience and Qualifications
- Overview of the consultant or firm's experience with accreditation/reaffirmation.
- Specific experience with insert relevant accreditation body.
- References from similar engagements.
- Detailed plan for delivering the outlined Scope of Services.
- Description of tools, frameworks, or methodologies used.
- Bios of all team members who will work on the project.
- Their roles and specific experience with accreditation.
- Proposed timeline for completing all deliverables.
- Fees for each component of the Scope of Services.
- Travel or other incidental expenses (if applicable).
- Hourly rates for additional services, if requested.
- Detailed cost proposal, including the number of hours worked:
- Sample reports, presentations, or other relevant deliverables from previous engagements.
VI. Evaluation Criteria
Proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Relevant experience and expertise in accreditation reaffirmation.
- Demonstrated understanding of accreditation.
- Quality and feasibility of the proposed approach.
- References and past performance.
- Cost-effectiveness of the proposal.
