What are the responsibilities and job description for the 349 - IPA/ Navigator position at Morris Heights Health Center Inc?
Assist adults and children with enrollment for Medicaid or with Qualified Health Plans in the NYSDOH Health Insurance Exchange. Educate potential enrollees about the NYHBE and the types of health insurance programs. Assist enrollees with grievances, complaints or questions regarding their health coverage. Provide information to clients on the NYHBE. They will work and report to the Supervisor and the Program Director.
High School Degree or GED
Minimum of six months to one year experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
The individual must be highly organized in approach to prioritization of tasks and time management. Ability to communicate effectively with the Program Director, the Program Supervisor and other staff and clients. Foster good working relationships with staff and outside agencies to coordinate communications from the program.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardizations exist. Ability to interpret variety o instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Ability to ready, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, journals, and government regulations. Ability to write basic reports, business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from MHHC Management, clients, and the general public. Prefer being bilingual Spanish and English.
