Your purpose:
As a Plate Filer, you will be responsible for daily maintenance and upkeep of plates, ensuring that plates are available and accessible for all areas of production.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for putting away plates from the press floor.
- Responsible for filing folders.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Make sure that when new jobs come in plates are checked and there is an HP Proof and GMG, as applicable.
- All CTF plates are taken care of immediately. Make sure to toss all effected plates and mark the folder what was tossed.
- All remade plates will be put with the rest of the plates for the job.
- Backup the mounters if we are short staffed.
- Help train new hires.
- Pre-Inspections completed for all jobs prior to mounting.
- Help strip plates that come back from press.
- Help wash plates using the plate washer.
- Keep GMG’s organized and with the correct jobs

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be primarily in our climate-controlled facility. The plant floor is subject to vibration and equipment noise leading to a loud environment. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and might also be exposed to outside conditions, tight spaces, cleaning solvents and heights
Physical Demands:
The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen.
- Continuous (6 or more hours per day) bending, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs, reaching, lifting, and grasping.
- Continuous (6 or more hours per day) talking, listening, teaching, and repetitive motion, hand/wrist movement.
- Continuous (6 or more hours per day) standing and walking.
- Frequent (1 to 3 hours per day) work in a stooped position.
- Good eyesight, normal hearing.
- Ability to move and lift objects, frequently 50 lbs.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days, nights and hours may vary depending on assigned shift and productions requirements. This position may require significant work hours beyond the normal workday based on the demands of the business cycle or customer volume of business.
Travel: Should not be required.
Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2 years mounting experience.
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
- Ability to read and write English.
- Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
- Ability to receive, track, and distribute materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Knowledge of light equipment operation and/or maintenance.
- Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
- Ability to read, sort, check, count, and verify numbers.
- Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects
- Ability to perform simple arithmetic.
- Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel.
Licenses and Certifications: None.
Supervisory Responsibility: This position has supervisory responsibilities.
