About the Role
MTS is hiring a Network Engineer to support a 7-month hospital switch refresh project in Boston, MA. This role involves deploying and configuring network hardware, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and working within ServiceNow to manage change requests.
After-hours work will be required occasionally to minimize user impact.

Key Responsibilities
- Deploy, install, and configure Cisco and Extreme/Enterasys network hardware within scheduled maintenance windows.
- Unrack decommissioned network switches, relocate networking and APC hardware for recycling.
- Diagnose and resolve LAN/WAN/WiFi network issues to ensure high availability.
- Submit and manage change requests in ServiceNow for planned network upgrades.
- Coordinate network updates with IT teams and hospital staff to ensure smooth transitions.
- Maintain accurate network diagrams and documentation for future reference.
- Provide mentorship and support to associates in daily tasks and troubleshooting.
Required Qualifications
- Network Engineering Experience – At least 2 years in network infrastructure, deployment, or troubleshooting.
- Hardware Expertise – Hands-on experience with Cisco or Extreme/Enterasys networking equipment.
- Troubleshooting Skills – Ability to diagnose and resolve connectivity issues in a large-scale environment.
- Change Management Experience – Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools for tracking network changes.
- On-Site Availability – Must be local to Boston, MA or within a 1-hour commute.
Preferred Skills
- ServiceNow Experience – Prior experience managing IT tickets and change requests.
- Certifications – CCNA or other networking certifications are a plus.
- Healthcare IT Background – Experience working in hospital network environments.
