What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional (DSP) Residential House Leader position at Morrison Center?
Morrison Center is seeking a Residential Team Lead to support our Adult Residential Services Team. This position will be for our home in New Gloucester, ME.
In addition to previous DSP experience, qualified applicants will possess excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to be a team player. This position serves as a role model to our DSP staff, displaying the values of the agency and the conduct of a high performing employee.
This position works weekday hours with some evening and weekends required.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Coordination of appointments, assessments, and treatments.
- Providing Direct Care Supports as scheduled or as needed to cover vacant shifts.
- Providing In-House Orientation and on-the-job training for new DSP staff.
Provide assistance with daily, weekly, and monthly routines of all operations (including census, petty cash, MARS, documentation, fire drills, vehicles, etc.)
Ensuring the Special Duties are being completed (Fire Drills, Fire safety Binder, cleaning, weekly menus, shopping lists etc.

Therap Note and ADP Reports
- Review Therap documentation to ensure daily notes are being completed, notify supervisor of gaps. Verify notes match payroll hours.
- Assist with overseeing ordering, inventory control, and the safe dispensation of medications according to CRMA guidelines.
- ·Support the program director/coordinator as needed with scheduling, demonstrating a good understanding of staffing patterns and optimal billing percentages for optimal efficiency.
- Correct, give feedback, and/or coach DSPs surrounding performance and professionalism and provide follow up documentation to the Program Coordinator and/or Director.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the PCP process, including timelines and required paperwork/documentation.
- Under the direction of or in the absence of the Coordinator or Director, support reportable event documentation and follow-ups, to be completed in an accurate and timely manner and in accordance with guidelines.
- Participate in on-call schedule, supporting DSP staffing needs and emergencies.
- Drive Agency vehicles
- Administers medication (must be CRMA certified
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Able to read, write, and communicate effectively.
- Valid Maine Driver's License, reliable transportation and clean driving record.
- At least 4 years experience as a DSP.
- Required trainings (to be maintained through regular agency trainings): CPR/First Aid, Crisis Intervention, DSP, CRMA)
