FLSA status: non-exempt/hourly
Salary: $22.10/hr. - $24.08/hr.

Position/Job Summary:
The Case Aide works closely with the Case Management team in order to facilitate completion and follow up of referrals made for our clients.  This includes contact with sponsors and minors to provide information of resources, help them with referrals and follow-ups. This position will collaborate with and provide direct support to the case management team.     
   
Position/Job Duties and Responsibilities:    
  • Research community resources, screen and identify organizations that serve immigrant youth, and ensure comprehensive documentation of all communication and support services provided to the clients of Morrison HSPRS program.  
  • Work directly with the case management team and Resources Coordinator to ensure that services provided to immigrant youth are in accordance with expectations, policies and procedures determined by the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR).   
  • Assist clients to access culturally relevant community services, providing referrals and assistance with completing applications and referral forms.  
  • Assist with creating, filing, closing and overall daily maintenance of client records.  
  • Works closely with the case management department providing support to the case managers and case workers with making referrals for our clients.   
  • Days and hours of work might change or need to be adjusted to support the needs of the program
  • Identify appropriate community resources, ensuring they are culturally and linguistically appropriate  
  • Send mail, email and schedule appointments for families, as needed, on behalf of the Case Manager.   
  • Support in other key areas of the program, as needed  
  • Complete Mandated Reporter responsibilities in accordance with local state requirements when there is knowledge or suspicion that a child’s safety may be at risk  
  • Complete all other tasks as delegated by the Intake Coordinator or Program Director. 
  • Demonstrate a commitment to developing a thorough knowledge and application of the Sanctuary model and other organizational policies & practices.  
  • Participate in staff development, in-services, and training related to workplace effectiveness; model professional behaviors and implement improvements to business practices with awareness of their impact in a trauma-informed behavioral healthcare organization.  
  • Other duties as assigned to ensure successful operation of program/department

Required Position Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalency 
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish and English, written, read and verbal. Must clear a language proficiency test for Spanish.
  • One year of experience working in a social service environment 
  • One year of experience in a professional office environment 
  • Child Welfare and or case management experience 
  • Attained age 21 years or older before first day of employment in position (ORR) 
   
Preferred Position Qualifications: 
  • ORR experience
  • Knowledge of Federal, State and agency regulations.
  • Knowledge of adolescent developmental issues, trauma, abuse and neglect, substance abuse and dependence, delinquency, peer influence, and related group and individual interventions.
   
Other Requirements:    
  • Able to work shift hours and days, as assigned. Position may require work outside of usual work hours on occasion.
  • Pass a criminal history background check though Morrison and a suitability determination investigation through the U.S. Office of Personnel Management. For further information review :https://www.opm.gov/suitability/suitability-and-credentialing-faqs/  
  • 40 hours of required training per year
Physical demands and work environment: 
  • Visual acuity allowing for analysis of written data.
  • Ability to provide visual and auditory supervision of youth outdoors and indoors during activity.
  • Manual dexterity allowing for operation of routine office equipment (computers, telephone, fax, copy machine, typewriter, calculator, etc.)
  • Physical dexterity allowing for reaching, stooping, and repetitive motion of wrist, hand or fingers.
  • Ability to remain calm and emotionally available in an environment serving youth who have experienced trauma.
