About the Position
We are seeking professional, highly motivated individuals to join our team as a Front Desk Representative for the 2025 season. This seasonal position runs from April 14th through October 31st. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills (phone, in-person, and written), exceptional organization, time management abilities, and leadership qualities.
This role includes a comprehensive training period during the first 3 to 4 weeks (depends on individual), preparing you for the busy season ahead. Training will cover reservation systems, guest interactions, sales techniques, and front desk operations. Everything needed to be successful at this position.
This role is seasonal, with different responsibilities during the on-season (May–October) and off-season (April- May):
- Training Period (April 14th -May 14th ):
- Scheduled four to five days per week (9:00 AM – 4:30 or 5:00 PM).
- Hands-on training in reservation systems, Phones and transferring calls as needed, guest communication, and front desk procedures.
- On-Season (Mid-May – October):
- Scheduled 4 - 5 days per week 6:30 am - 1 or 2 pm or 4 - 5 days per week working 1 PM – 8:30 PM and a possibility of a combination of both opening and mid day shift).
- Responsible for front desk operations, including check-ins/check-outs, guest assistance, reservations, and customer inquiries.
- Booking guests for half and full day rafting, lodging, dining, and assisting with Foster Bar car shuttle services.
- Pre-Season (April):
- Scheduled four to five days per week (9:00 AM – 5PM).
- Handling reservations, phone/email correspondence, and assisting with seasonal preparations.
Key Responsibilities
- Process reservations for lodging and meal reservations, dinner reservations day rafting adventures, and shuttle services via phone, email, and in person.
- Answer phone calls and general inquiries about our offerings and surrounding areas.
- Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring all guest needs are met efficiently and professionally.
- Oversee front desk operations, ensuring smooth day-to-day functionality.
- Assist with retail sales, including opening/closing the cash drawer daily.
- Maintain front desk cleanliness, restocking supplies as needed.
- Process payments and maintain accurate booking records.
- Assist management and office team members with administrative tasks.
- Review reservations for accuracy and update forms/documents for operational efficiency.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of sales experience.
- At least 1 year of hotel/lodging experience.
- At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Professional appearance and excellent personal hygiene.
- Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Docs.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Knowledge of rafting or lodging reservation software is a plus.
