Structural/Support Engineer – NS&E
We are seeking a Structural/Support Engineer to join our team, specializing in nuclear, space, and energy (NS&E) projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in structural support design, specifically for piping systems, and be proficient in industry codes and software tools.
Job Details:
- Location: On-site preferred
- Type: 6 month contract
- Per Diem: Available for candidates residing 50 miles away
- Citizenship: U.S. citizenship required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and locate supports for various piping systems while ensuring structural integrity.
- Perform calculations and analysis related to pipe support design.
- Collaborate with layout personnel and pipe stress engineers to develop efficient and cost-effective designs.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards, including AISC and ASME B31.3.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and vendors as needed.
- Work within a 3D modeling environment to enhance project efficiency.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or a related field.
- Strong understanding of AISC, ASME B31.3, and other applicable industry codes.
- Experience with structural analysis software.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Experience with pipe support analysis tools, such as GTStrudel.
- Familiarity with Pipe Support Modeler software.
- Experience working on Department of Defense (DOD) or Department of Energy (DOE) projects.
