Supply Chain Engineer - Aerospace Fasteners & Components

General Purpose :
The Supply Chain Engineer will be responsible for developing and optimizing the company's supplier base with a focus on Aerospace Fasteners & Components , while maintaining a global supply chain perspective. This role is key to ensuring supplier performance, compliance, and continuous improvement , aligning with the company's strategic objectives to enhance operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in aerospace supply chains, particularly in fasteners and precision components , and be skilled in supplier development, relationship management, and quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities :
Supplier Development & Performance :
- Develop regional and global suppliers in alignment with the company's strategic needs.
- Identify new sourcing opportunities and evaluate supplier capabilities to meet aerospace-grade fastener specifications .
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supplier performance, cost-effectiveness, and lead times.
- Ensure supplier compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100 , and aerospace OEM Quality Systems (e.g., RR SABRe, GE S-1000, P&W LCS ).
Relationship Management & Collaboration :
Build strong, long-term partnerships with suppliers and key stakeholders.Act as the primary liaison between suppliers, internal teams, and quality assurance.Work closely with engineering, procurement, and QA teams to ensure supply chain alignment with business objectives.Support supplier audits and performance reviews to ensure consistent quality and delivery standards.Continuous Improvement & Cost Optimization :
Lead value engineering initiatives to optimize costs and enhance supplier capabilities .Develop risk mitigation strategies to address supply chain disruptions and material shortages.Implement KPIs and supplier performance metrics , driving corrective actions where necessary.Demonstrate measurable cost savings and efficiency gains in supply chain operations.Required Experience & Qualifications :
Experience :
8 to 10 years of experience in aerospace supply chains , preferably within fasteners and precision components .Proven track record of developing and managing aerospace suppliers in highly regulated environments.Strong commercial awareness and experience managing cost-sensitive supply chains .High proficiency in problem-solving techniques, supplier quality management, and logistics optimization .Education & Certifications :
Minimum GCSE pass level 4 (or equivalent) in at least five subjects, including Math and English .Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent preferred.Certifications such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) and PRINCE2 are a plus.Key Personal Attributes :
