Project Manager Role
Mortenson is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead complex projects, interacting with various staff at all levels in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will be flexible, resourceful, proactive, and efficient with high professionalism and confidentiality. Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
The Project Manager will provide overall leadership direction to projects, managing quality, timeliness, safety, and mentoring project teams. Key duties include:
- Managing the financial health of projects, including EPC contract negotiations, vendor procurement, and budget management.
- Leading subcontractors and suppliers, overseeing budgets, and making selections.
- Managing Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers, providing job assignments, career development, and ongoing feedback.
- Acting as the main point of contact with owners and on-site representatives, resolving site concerns and building relationships.
- Managing change orders, determining when to submit to owners or on-site representatives, and obtaining approval.
Requirements:
- Minimum six years of related experience.
- Proven ability to assist with all responsibilities for complex projects.
- Detail-oriented, with basic understanding of construction law and business practices.
- Microsoft Office, project, and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level.
- Strong customer service skills, positive attitude, and professional demeanor.
- Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in commercial construction, renewable energy project development, EPC contracting, or emerging technologies.
