What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Access Representative Lead position at Morton Comprehensive Health Services?
In addition to Patient Access Representative duties, responsible assist with training of Patient Access Representatives in the performance of their duties in accordance with Morton’s policies and procedures. Duties include but are not limited to EMR usage, customer service, opening/closing duties, patient registration and scheduling.
· Provides support to assist in training PAR staff in courteous and professional manner.
· Be a contact with PAR staff regarding Morton policies and procedures as well as Front Office policy and procedures.
· Assists Front Office Supervisor and/or Front Office Director with updates in PAR training manuals and reference materials.
· Provides quality, courteous, professional, and informative customer services at all times and seeks to interpret patient’s needs.
· Register new, established, and walk-in patients according to Morton policies and procedures.
· Creates new patient accounts and charts; inputs and/or updates established patient accounts according to Morton policies and procedures.
· Calculates amounts due, collects and enters patient payments according to Morton policies and procedures.
· Schedules patient appointments via telephone and/or in person including follow-up appointments.
· Assist patients with any issue they may have and helps to resolve the matter in a professional manner in accordance with Morton’s policy and procedures.
· Provides financial counseling and assists patients by referring to appropriate agencies, as necessary.
· Monitors waiting time of patient and keeps them informed of delays.
· Contact person for special program scheduling.
· Assist Front Office Supervisor with daily opening and closing procedures.
· Balances cash collected for the day and prepares daily deposit and cash/activity reports.
Job Qualifications:
· High School Diploma / GED required.
· 2-3 Years of work experience at Morton Comprehensive Health Services preferred. Associates degree preferred.
· Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office products – Outlook, Excel, and Word.
· Know commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in an ambulatory health center environment.
· Proper phone etiquette knowledge and skills.
