Guest Service Representative
Job Description
The Guest Service Representative is responsible for front line customer service. The Guest Service Representative is a seasonal, part-time, and non-union employee working between 8-15 hours during weekend. Work pace is moderate to busy depending on volume of customers during peak times of day and evening hours.
Qualifications:
The Guest Service Representative should have at least 2 years in a customer service-related position. Experience with RecTrac preferred. CPR training and First Aid are required but will train. High School diploma or equivalent is required.
Immediate Supervisor:
The Guest Service Representative is under the direction of the Registration Coordinator.
Essential Functions:
1. Greet all patrons, members, and participants in a friendly and courteous manner as they enter the Prairie View Community Center.
2. Process program registrations, season passes, and other activities.
3. Answer phones promptly, directing the call to the appropriate person.
4. Answer all patrons’ questions in person or on the telephone, or direct patron to the appropriate person or department for the question to be answered.
5. Assist in refunds and program cancellations.
6. Process rental contracts, including checking availability, taking deposits, and completing paperwork.
7. Assist other team members with participating in and preparing for Special Events, including copying, distributing information or materials, and scheduling facilities.
8. Maintains the general tidiness of the registration area.
9. Complete additional tasks as assigned.
Marginal Functions:
Minimal amount of filing.
Psychological Considerations:
The Customer Service Representative must be patient in dealing with the public and cooperative in working as a team member representing the Morton Grove Park District. Must be capable of handling more than one task at a time and ability to work under pressure.
Physiological Considerations:
The Customer Service Representative must stand for long periods behind the counter. Some light clean-up duty is required. Extensive bending is needed periodically.
Environmental Considerations:
All activities are performed indoors. These environmental conditions include lighting and temperature.
Cognitive Considerations:
The ability to use good judgment is necessary. Must be friendly, outgoing, and personable to patrons.
