Job Summary
The Maintenance Scheduler is responsible for efficiently coordinating and scheduling maintenance tasks and activities to improve equipment availability, maintenance efficiency, and employee safety. The job includes planning, scheduling and coordinating preventative maintenance, responding to emergency maintenance requests, and managing maintenance team resources.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Schedule and implement all maintenance activities, including preventive maintenance, reactive maintenance, and predictive maintenance. Build daily/weekly schedules, including preventative maintenance work orders.
- Coordinate with maintenance team and other stakeholders for scheduling and execution of tasks.
- Assist the Planner with maintaining a comprehensive maintenance plan for all equipment to reduce downtime and increase efficiency. Fill in for Maintenance Planner when necessary.
- Monitor and track the progress of maintenance tasks to ensure they are completed on time. Update status of work orders in the CMMS system.
- Serve as the owner of the maintenance work order log, ensuring tasks are completed and stakeholders are informed.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests as needed.
- Communicate regularly with all departments about the status of maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and food safety policies, laws, and regulations.
- Assist with the management of maintenance supplies, inventory, and equipment. This includes monitoring necessary parts inventory and order material as necessary. Procure and ensure delivery of all materials to meet maintenance schedules and requirements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- High School graduation or GED is required. College, Technical College or Trade Program is preferred.
- 2 years’ experience in maintenance scheduling preferred.
- Knowledge of maintenance processes and health/safety regulations
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Mechanical and/or electrical maintenance background preferred.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of a CMMS system and Microsoft Office.
