Responsibilities

- Foster a supportive classroom environment that encourages creativity, collaboration, and respect among students.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively, ensuring a safe and productive learning atmosphere.
- Provide individualized support to students, including tutoring as needed to enhance their artistic skills.
- Organize art exhibitions or showcases to display student work and celebrate their achievements.
- Collaborate with other educators to integrate art into broader educational themes and projects.
- Maintain an inventory of art supplies and equipment, ensuring all materials are safe and accessible for student use.
- Stay updated on current trends in art education and incorporate innovative practices into the curriculum.
Requirements
- Background in art focus at afterschool, camp, etc.
- Experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is essential.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and effective behavior management strategies.
- Familiarity with various art mediums (e.g., painting, drawing, sculpture) and teaching methods.
- First Aid certification is a plus; willingness to obtain if not currently certified.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage students effectively.
