Role Overview:

We seek a strategic, results-oriented Distribution Manager to lead our end-to-end distribution operations, encompassing shipping, receiving, inventory control, quality assurance, building maintenance, and dedicated fleet management. The ideal candidate will bring exceptional leadership, operational and financial acumen, and a commitment to upholding Mosaic's high standards. This role requires strong budget management skills and the ability to identify cost-saving opportunities while ensuring efficient, high-quality operations across all distribution functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • 7 years of progressive leadership experience in distribution, logistics, or supply chain management.
  • Proficiency in fleet management, transportation logistics, and DOT compliance.
  • Expertise in inventory control and quality assurance.
  • Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP platforms.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Development-

  • Act as a key leader within the distribution team, providing strategic direction and fostering an environment of collaboration, accountability, and operational excellence.
  • Coach and mentor distribution center team members, identifying training and development needs to promote growth and performance.
  • Champion Mosaic’s culture and values by modeling strong leadership, ethical decision-making, and a dedication to maintaining Mosaic’s reputation for quality and integrity in all operations.

Talent Acquisition, Development, and Safety Leadership-

  • Strategically lead hiring, onboarding, and team development across all distribution areas to build a high-performing, engaged team aligned with Mosaic’s values and standards.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to drive employee development and retention initiatives and enforce clear HR policies that foster a positive and productive workplace culture.
  • Champion workplace safety through comprehensive policies, training, and compliance measures, conducting regular safety audits and implementing corrective actions to ensure a secure and OSHA-compliant environment for all employees.

Warehouse Operations-

  • Direct all aspects of warehouse management, including layout optimization, inventory organization, safety protocols, and workflow efficiency.
  • Develop and enforce standard operating procedures for warehouse staff to streamline picking, packing, and storage processes, supporting Mosaic’s commitment to operational precision.
  • Lead lean initiatives to improve space utilization, eliminate inefficiencies, and foster a culture of continuous improvement in alignment with Mosaic’s strategic goals.

Shipping & Receiving Management-

  • Lead and manage all incoming and outgoing shipments with disciplined team coordination and solid attention to detail. Ensure adherence to schedules, cost-effectiveness, and accuracy to uphold Mosaic’s commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to shipping and receiving, analyzing performance data to optimize lead times, reduce errors, and minimize costs.
  • Work with carriers and logistics partners to negotiate and manage contracts, securing competitive rates and reliable service that aligns with Mosaic’s distribution standards.

Dedicated Fleet Management-

  • Oversee the service quality and cost-efficiency of Mosaic’s dedicated third-party fleet provider, ensuring driver scheduling, routing, and performance monitoring align with standards for on-time, safe deliveries.
  • Manage cost control and service optimization strategies with third-party providers, focusing on fuel efficiency, fleet utilization, and compliance with DOT and safety regulations to support Mosaic’s operational and budgetary goals.

Inventory Control-

  • Oversee inventory tracking systems, conducting regular audits, cycle counts, and variance analysis to maintain high accuracy and visibility of stock levels.
  • Collaborate with procurement and sales teams to ensure optimal warehouse space utilization, aligning inventory storage with demand forecasts, seasonal trends, and customer requirements to maximize efficiency and reduce wasted space.

Quality Assurance-

  • Develop and enforce stringent quality standards across the distribution process, creating checks and balances for incoming materials and outgoing shipments to meet Mosaic’s high-quality expectations.
  • Lead quality audits and root cause analysis on quality issues, working cross-functionally to develop solutions and corrective actions.
  • Introduce continuous improvement initiatives to maintain and elevate Mosaic’s product and service quality, ensuring that every order reflects Mosaic’s dedication to excellence.

Facility and Equipment Maintenance-

  • Supervise the maintenance of the distribution facilities, developing a proactive maintenance schedule to prevent disruptions and ensure a safe, clean environment.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the building, equipment, and safety systems, coordinating any repairs or upgrades to comply with OSHA and industry standards.
  • Manage facility costs within budget, find efficiencies, and negotiate vendor contracts to optimize expenses for building upkeep and necessary supplies.
  • Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of material handling equipment, implementing proactive maintenance schedules to ensure optimal functionality, reduce downtime, and maintain a safe work environment.
