- Drive human-centered design (HCD) practices to create innovative UX solutions aligned with user needs and program goals.
- Lead the end-to-end UX design process, including research, concept development, prototyping, usability testing, and final design delivery.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, engineers, and developers to integrate user-centered design into system development.
- Conduct UX research (user interviews, contextual inquiries, usability testing) and translate insights into wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.
- Establish and maintain UX standards, design systems, and style guides for consistency across platforms.
- Mentor and guide junior UX designers, fostering innovation and collaboration.
- Present design concepts to stakeholders, leadership, and customers for feedback and approval.
- Measure the effectiveness of UX solutions post-deployment, iterating to enhance usability and user satisfaction. Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Design, Psychology, or a related field (equivalent experience may be considered).
- Active DoD Secret Clearance required; Top Secret / SCI eligibility preferred.
- 10 years of UX design experience, including 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong portfolio showcasing UX work on complex systems, preferably in defense or aerospace.
- Proficiency in UX design tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Axure).
- Experience in Agile and DevSecOps environments.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and their implementation in design.
- Preferred Qualifications :
- Certification in UX / UI Design or Human-Centered Design (e.g., NN / g, IDEO).
- Experience with defense or aerospace systems and operational environments.
- Familiarity with emerging technologies (AR / VR, AI, voice interfaces).
