Job Summary:
At Moser Energy Systems, the Procurement Specialist is called a Purchaser. The Purchaser is responsible for sourcing and buying materials, goods, and services on behalf of the company to be resold or used in daily operations. Purchasing officers maintain stock levels, and may also conduct research, negotiate with vendors, and interview prospective suppliers. This role also involves monitoring inventory levels, conducting audits, and maintaining accurate records.

Education/ Experience:
- High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in parts, purchasing, and inventory management within a manufacturing, automotive, or mechanical environment is preferred.
Supervisor:
Parts Manager, unless otherwise designated.
Typical Responsibilities:
- Purchase replacement parts and materials in a timely cost-effective manner.
- Identify and evaluate suppliers for replacement parts and other materials.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
- Place orders for materials and track deliveries to ensure timely receipt.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure reliable supply chains.
- Prepare and present reports on inventory levels, purchasing activities, and cost savings initiatives.
- Monitor inventory usage and forecast future needs based on production schedules and maintenance requirements to ensure optimal stock levels of parts and materials.
- Receiving parts, including placing them into inventory and properly labeling them.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to identify and address inventory shortages and surpluses.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, purchase orders, and supplier information.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in all purchasing and inventory management activities.
- Know and comply with all safety policies, standards, and procedures that apply to your job.
- Actively participate in all required training and safety meetings.
- Use the correct tools and use them safely.
- Immediately report all incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions to your supervisor.
- Abide by all policies and procedures established by Moser Energy Systems.
- Assist with any task required by the direct supervisor.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong understanding of inventory management, procurement, and supply chain processes.
- High level of accuracy with the ability to consistently meet deadlines.
- Strong ability to negotiate with vendors to obtain best pricing and lead times.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Mathematical skills to help manage the inventory, pricing, and estimates.
- Problem-solving skills to deal with parts inventory issues.
- Must react well under pressure with a customer service minded approach to resolving challenges.
- Must be a self-starter. Proactively follows up with vendors, suppliers, and internal departments regarding delivery timelines and delays.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes loud environment.
- Product knowledge to correctly identify parts and recommend needed parts.
- Time management and organizational skills with the ability to work alone.
- Expert level communication and customer service skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Possess or is able to obtain forklift certification and operate forklift safely in various conditions in and out of warehouse.
- Must treat everyone equally with respect and dignity.
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to work legally in the US.
- Pass a drug screening.
- Clean motor vehicle record.
Physical Requirements:
- Excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Must be able to perform repetitive tasks.
- The physical ability to perform all tasks related to the position, such as bending and reaching, standing for long periods of time, and lifting over 60 pounds.
