Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Front Desk Lead to oversee the front desk operations at our Motel 6 & Studio 6 Hayward location. The Front Desk Lead will ensure that all guest interactions are handled professionally, efficiently, and with a high level of customer service. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Supervision:
  • Oversee daily front desk operations, including check-in, check-out, reservations, and guest services.
  • Train, mentor, and supervise front desk staff, ensuring they adhere to company policies and provide excellent customer service.
  • Lead by example in delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  • Customer Service:
  • Address and resolve guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
  • Ensure guests feel welcomed and valued from the moment they arrive until their departure.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge about the property, local attractions, and amenities to assist guests.
  • Operations Management:
  • Manage the front desk schedule to ensure adequate coverage during all shifts.
  • Monitor and manage room inventory, ensuring accurate and efficient room assignments.
  • Oversee the proper handling of cash, credit, and other payment methods according to company policies.
  • Administrative Duties:
  • Prepare and review daily reports, including occupancy, revenue, and guest feedback.
  • Assist in managing and resolving issues related to reservations, room availability, and guest billing.
  • Ensure that all front desk areas are clean, organized, and properly stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Team Collaboration:
  • Work closely with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to ensure seamless guest experiences.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management to address and resolve any operational challenges.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in hospitality or related field is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hotel front desk or customer service role, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead position.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Proficiency in hotel management software and MS Office Suite.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to guest service.
