Chef Evan Funke is a steward of Italian cooking traditions and culture. At Mother Wolf, he pays tribute to Rome’s mythological origin story of Remus, Romulus and the Lupa Capitolina. With Rome as the singular inspiration for Mother Wolf, Funke’s rich and soulful cooking is a mosaic of the ancient, pastoral and urban culinary heritage of la cucina Romana. The menu echos themes of shepherds, popes, farmers and artisans with wafer-thin wood fired pizzas, hyper-seasonal antipasti and the exceptional pastas for which Funke is renowned. Many of the Roman classics are featured - Carbonara, all’Amatriciana, alla Gricia, al Burro, Arrabiata and more.
Position Summary
Our Host are responsible for welcoming, greeting and seating guests in a gracious, accommodating, and professional manner, ensuring 100% guest satisfaction.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Greet guests with a welcoming smile in a professional manner.
- Guide guests to a set and ready table for service.
- Answers phone calls, make reservations and responds to any guest inquiries.
- Monitoring reservation books and providing accurate waiting times.
- Collect and store menus as well as clean when appropriate.
- Having knowledge of floor plans, tables numbers, stations, etc.
- Keep seating fair and a consistent manner, rotating server stations.
- Completes room checks and edits the floor management system accordingly.
- Keeping immediate awareness when tables get reset and ready with accurate guest counts along with table settings.
- Escorting guests to assigned dining table or bar area.
- Maintaining a clean reception/station area.
- All other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for an extended period.
- May be required to lift trays of food or drinks up to 20 lbs.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
- Must be able to bend or lift up to 50 lbs.
Skills/Experience
- Six (6) months previous restaurant or hotel experience.
- Excellent listener and communicator.
- Ability to focus on guest interaction and multitask.
- Team player and able to anticipate others’ needs.
- Knowledge of seating management systems (preferred but not required).
- Experience with answering phones in a reservation system.
- Positive Attitude.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays when required.
