POSITION SUMMARY
The Parker Store Associate assists customers in the retail Parker Store setting by providing product recommendations, answering questions, alerting customers to product options and expanding sales revenues by up-selling support programs and product accessories. Performs all duties required to service customers by pulling, assembling, tagging, and shipping products to meet their individual needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Ability to troubleshoot and make suggestions for customer solutions.
- Ability to work with walk-in and telephone customers to help solve their industrial and mobile hose/fitting needs.
- Actively work with store manager, outside sales team, and manufacturer representatives.
- Assist in bulk picking, shipping and receiving, unloading trucks, and checking in merchandise.
- Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic hoses and associated fittings.
- Fabrication of hydraulic and pneumatic hoses and associated fittings.
- Create hose assemblies using the industrial hose crimping machines (Parker is our preferred model.)
- Conduct cycle counts.
- Maintain merchandising within the store (rotating end caps, keeping displays full, clean, and organized, replenishing a product information library, keeping signage current, etc.)
- Managing and maintaining inventory levels in the store.
- Prepare and pack orders for shipping; check packing lists.
- Participate in promoting the store to customer base.
- Participate in required training and acquire certifications as directed by management.
- Pull customer orders from stock according to purchase orders and/or shipping tickets.
- Record amounts of items received or distributed in computerized inventory control system.
- Repair of pumps, cylinders, bolting tools, and equipment (training provided.)
- Sort and place merchandise on racks, shelves, or in bins according to bin codes or other predetermined order – type, size, color, etc.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as purchase orders, shipping manifests, packing lists and/or shipping lists.
- Basic math skills with ability to count, add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment and experience with multi-carrier shipping systems preferred.
- Background in the use of industrial hose crimping machines (Parker is our preferred model.)
- Basic computer skills including use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Computer skills required: Inventory Software; Microsoft Office Suite; Payroll Systems.
