Position Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Logistics Coordinator to be responsible for overseeing our company's transportation-related activities. In this role, you'll be keeping track of transportation operations and ensuring that all policies, procedures, and safety rules are followed.

To be a successful Logistics Coordinator, you should possess exceptional leadership skills and maintain the company's high standard of customer service. Ultimately, a top-notch Logistics Coordinator should be able to display extensive knowledge of transportation management systems and have excellent analytical skills.

The essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary:

  • Team Management and Oversight
    • Supervise and manage the assigned team, ensuring adherence to time and attendance expectations.
    • Accurately and promptly submit payroll for the team.
    • Provide guidance on employee relations matters and facilitate training to ensure the development and effectiveness of team members.
    • Plan, organize, and manage subordinate staff members to ensure all work meets company standards and expectations.
  • Operational Responsibilities
    • Monitor and manage the routes of the assigned distribution center or cross-dock to ensure timely and accurate product delivery to customers.
    • Assign the Driver and Route Leader for each route and communicate plans to the scheduler/planner.
    • Oversee and direct all operational processes associated with traffic and transport logistics.
    • Supervise and provide real-time solutions during deliveries in case of incidents or challenges.
    • Accurately record incoming route payments using the appropriate platforms and maintain consistent communication with the finance team.
    • Ensure route closures are managed effectively, deposits are processed promptly, and communicate any delays to the finance team.
  • Logistics Efficiency and Maintenance
    • Ensure deliveries arrive on time, at the correct location, with accurate products in good condition.
    • Identify and implement continuous improvement strategies for transport logistics to enhance service, profitability, and productivity.
    • Coordinate fleet vehicle maintenance and repairs with leasing companies.
    • Ensure warehouse or cross-dock equipment is well-maintained and schedule repairs when necessary.
    • Maintain compliance with the 5S standard across all units.
  • System and Process Compliance
    • Ensure all stores are closed in Smart Delivery, and returns are properly credited.
    • Adhere to safety and compliance standards, including the use of required protective footwear in designated areas.
  • Collaboration and Flexibility
    • Collaborate across departments to improve communication and operational performance.
    • Be willing to travel for training purposes or to assist other distribution centers when needed.
  • Attendance and Physical Expectations
    • Maintain consistent and reliable attendance and punctuality.
    • Meet the physical demands of the position while complying with Ethnix Groups policies and performance standards.

Organizational Responsibilities:

Follows established policies and procedures by monitoring and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and operational processes related to area(s) of responsibility and reporting violations or infractions to appropriate individual(s).

Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with Company, warehouse, and departmental policies, procedures, and standards by immediately reporting any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, employee/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to appropriate individual(s).

Identifies areas for improvement and offers suggestions to improve the site's efficiency, profitability, and productivity.

Keeps abreast of current changes in technology, logistics tools, processes, and standards within the industry and area(s) of responsibility by attending internal and external training programs and by accessing other sources of information and applies knowledge and practices to area(s) of responsibility.

Work Hours (may vary by state or location):

This position is scheduled as full-time exempt. Hours of operation vary by site and shift. Must be available to work on weekends when scheduled and must be able to perform the essential job functions unaccompanied.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED certificate.
  • Two years or more of commercial transportation experience including experience dispatching commercial vehicles on fixed and variable route assignments.
  • Experience maintaining DOT files reviewed driver performances and disciplined when necessary.
  • Experience in a lead or supervisory capacity is desirable.
  • Experience in handling cash, processing deposits, and managing online transactions.
  • Experience with programs like Excel, Teams, and the ability to quickly learn other computer-related programs the company uses.

Language Ability:

Demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate effectively to comprehend and complete legal documents, and answer questions in English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Bilingual in English/Spanish required.

Math Ability:

Demonstrated mathematical skills are necessary to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers, decimals, fractions, and calculate percentages to complete reports, inventory, payroll, budgets, and other reporting information.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to:

  • Oversee, coordinate, and participate in the daily operations and activities of the Transportation department.
  • Oversee assignment of driver routes and special events.
  • Review routes and schedules to accommodate changes.
  • Train, supervise and evaluate assigned staff.
  • Plan and coordinate driver safety and training programs.
  • Assess transportation needs and develop viable plans and alternatives.
  • Prepare and maintain a variety of records, logs, lists, files, and reports.
  • Interpret, apply, and explain applicable laws, codes, rules, and regulations.
  • Operate a variety of office equipment including a computer and assigned software.
  • Observe legal and defensive driving practices.
  • Understand and resolve issues and complaints.
  • Plan and organize work.
  • Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action.

Computer Skills:

Demonstrated proficiency in word processing, warehouse management software (Word, Excel, Microsoft TEAMS). Previous experience with transportation scheduling and routes software/App. preferred. Ability to learn proprietary software/hardware as necessary.

Certificates and Licenses:

  • CDL-A license preferred.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job does have supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

Incumbents work in an unconditioned warehouse environment temperature may vary in some parts of the warehouse (cooler/freezer) but also have frequent exposure to outside elements where temperature, weather, odors, and/or landscape may be unpleasant and/or hazardous. Youll be working around moving machines order pickers, stand-up forklifts, turret trucks, and mobile carts. Depending on the weather, temperatures can be over 90F in the truck yard or inside trailers.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, type, handle or feel objects, talk, and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk; reach with hands and arms, climb, stoop, and squat. The employee is intermittently required to sit. Incumbents must be able to physically access all exterior and interior parts of the warehouse and amenities.

Must be able to push, pull, lift, carry, or maneuver weights of up to fifty (50) pounds independently and one hundred (100) pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Routine, local travel may be required to attend training classes, conduct market research, or other situations necessary for the accomplishment of some or all of the daily responsibilities of this position.
