Vice President of Technology & Engineering - Massachusetts

As part of their expansion, they are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Technology to lead and scale their technological efforts.

The Vice President of Technology will play a critical role in the development, execution, and ongoing innovation of the company's technological vision. This individual will work closely with all aspects of the company, including product development, engineering, operations, and executive leadership, to ensure the successful integration of hardware and software. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in building complex, full-stack solutions and will have experience taking products from R&D through to market launch and scaling. Experience with embedded IoT systems and AI is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technology strategy and execution across hardware and software domains, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
• Oversee the entire product development lifecycle from early-stage R&D to full-scale production, ensuring timely delivery of products that meet the company's high standards for quality and performance.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, operations, and leadership, to define and drive the company's technology roadmap.
• Manage and scale a diverse, multi-disciplinary technology team, fostering collaboration and innovation to deliver integrated solutions.
• Ensure seamless integration of software and hardware systems, with a strong focus on product stability, scalability, and performance.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance in the areas of IoT, embedded systems, and software architectures.
• Contribute to the company's AI-driven product innovations, leveraging the latest advancements in artificial intelligence to improve functionality and efficiency.
• Work closely with supply chain management to ensure smooth hardware manufacturing processes, including quality control and testing procedures.
• Lead the continuous improvement of product lifecycle management, from ideation through market launch and post-launch scaling.
• Establish and maintain best practices for software and hardware development, ensuring the highest standards of security, performance, and user experience.
• Serve as a key advisor to the executive team, providing insights and guidance on technology trends and product development strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven track record of success in a senior technology leadership role, ideally within a startup or fast-paced growth environment.
• Extensive experience in full-stack development and embedded IoT systems, with deep technical knowledge of both hardware and software integration.
• Experience taking complex products from concept through R&D to market launch and scaling, particularly in hardware-intensive environments.
• Solid understanding of supply chain management, quality control, and product lifecycle management.
• Expertise in AI technologies and their integration into hardware products is a significant plus.
• Strong experience working with cross-functional teams, managing technical teams, and delivering high-quality products on time and on budget.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to leadership.
• Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to thrive in a startup environment, where agility, collaboration, and adaptability are key to success.
