Overview
As the Head of Global Supply Chain Management, you will enjoy directing the transformation of our supply chain strategy, driving operational excellence and strategic sourcing across the organization. Under the direction of the VP of Operations, you will be responsible for optimizing our global supply chain, ensuring high-performance supplier relationships, and managing a Procurement team in the areas of proposal preparation, negotiations, contract award, and supplier management.
You will also oversee and manage all supply chain requirements for Operations, including supplier management, planning and analysis, inventory control, purchasing and procurement, logistics management, and export/import trade compliance.
In addition, your strategic leadership will be crucial in developing comprehensive supply chain solutions, reducing risks, improving efficiency, driving continuous improvement, and supporting the company's overall business objectives through innovative procurement and logistics management.
What you will do
- Develop and implement supplier management strategies, including risk assessment and mitigation
- Create and implement a comprehensive supplier scorecard system to drive continuous performance improvements
- Ensure supply base and procurement plans are in place to meet value stream capacity plans
- Guide procurement teams in contract negotiations, supplier selection, and performance improvement
- Spearhead strategic sourcing initiatives to lower costs, reduce lead times and improve supplier quality
- Develop robust business continuity strategies by establishing alternate supply sources for critical commodities
- Manage supply chain planning, inventory control, and logistics optimization
- Design and maintain supplier capacity modeling for supply chain capabilities for short, mid, and long-term horizons
- Develop and maintain policies for inventory management, import/export compliance, and procurement procedures
- Build and mentor a high-performing supply chain team
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, quality, production, and NPD teams
- Implement continuous improvement methodologies like Lean and Kaizen
- Conduct strategic analyses for supply base capacity and demand planning
- Optimize freight costs and supply chain efficiency
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and procurement standards
- Facilitate Kaizen events to drive continuous improvement across supply chain operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related technical field
- 10 years of operations and leadership experience in manufacturing supply chain
- Supply chain management experience
- Proficient in SAP ERP and MM/PP modules
- Expertise in global trade compliance and export controls, including tariffs
- Lean Manufacturing experience (5S, Value Stream, Kaizen)
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Proven track record of driving supply chain improvements
- Knowledge of ISO 9001/14001
