What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laboratory IT Specialist position at Motion Recruitment?
Our client, a leading Biotechnology Company is hiring a Laboratory IT Specialist to join their team in Rensselaer, NY!
**This is a 3-month W2 contract with benefits** (contract-to-hire)
As the Laboratory IT Specialist, you will install, configure, and troubleshoot server and non-desktop computer hardware, lab instruments, lab equipment, software, systems, and other resources in a data center or other centralized computer network setting.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain a working relationship with Lab System Owners, IT Teams, and Management
- Update the Regulatory Asset Management systems inventory of lab equipment, PC’s, software, and any other information pertinent to the environment
- User account setup/Password Resets in a controlled clean room or lab environment
- Assist with software upgrades, onboarding new equipment, and execute change controls
Desired Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or 2-3 years of relevant professional system support experience
- Experience with scientific instrumentation in a controlled environment
- 2 years of experience in a lab environment is a plus
- Prior experience with ServiceNow & Active Directory
