Our client, a major publishing company, is actively looking for a Senior Project Manager to join their team in Philadelphia. This is a remote position, however we are looking for candidates local to Philadelphia that can come into the office occasionally, as needed.
** This begins as a 1 year contract with an opportunity to extend or convert at any time **
The Project Manager position is responsible for driving and managing numerous simple to moderate portfolio projects. The position will project-manage cross-functional teams by working closely with all aspects of the product development community: Market Vertical, Product Manager, Engineering, etc. Additional responsibilities include building development road maps, managing project schedules, and collaborating to resolve issues in one or more Business Units.
You will be responsible for networking across organizations to drive initiatives, strategies, issue resolutions, and alignment. This includes creating, monitoring, and providing ongoing communications to appropriate stakeholders while coaching and facilitating the effectiveness of a team by growing their capabilities to organize, manage, and make decisions. You will also identify risk areas and provide alternative strategies to leadership that addresses concerns as well as manage interdependencies or dependencies between projects in addition to managing project process documentation.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Executive Sponsor and Business Owner of a Project, and other management as required, to achieve the Project objectives.
- Work with business and technical team/s to drive out project strategy and approach. Organize, plan, and maintain project roadmap consisting of cross-functional activities.
- Work with business and technical organizations to assemble project teams. Lead Project and/or Project team in the development and maintenance of comprehensive plans for a defined Project.
- Acquire an understanding of the business objectives for an assigned area.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on Project status inclusive of scope, schedule, budget and alignment to Project and strategic goals. Direct corrective action, as needed, to maintain the viability of the Project.
- Develop and maintain positive customer relationships. Deliver presentations of project status to effectively communicate throughout the project life cycle.
- Adhere to the Organization's project management methods, project life-cycle methodologies, and audit requirements. Support and contribute to the improvement of project management methods and practices.
- Maintain compliance with corporate and public regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
- At least 5 years of project management work experience.
- Experience providing regular reports and summaries to management.
- Microsoft Project, SmartSheets, or other PM tools.
- Lean, Waterfall, Agile PM.
- Agile knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project governance certification (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, etc.).
- Other Project management certification (Six Sigma, etc.).
- Working at a healthcare organization.
- Advanced knowledge of current IT and Healthcare technologies.
- Practical knowledge and training in healthcare privacy and data.
Salary : $60 - $70
