Our client, a medical device manufacturer, is looking for a Trade Compliance Operative Specialist to join their team in Charlton, MA! This is a hybrid position so local candidates are required.
** This is a 12-month contract **
Job Duties:
• Act as a primary interface with external partners and internal departments
• Provide control and instruction to service providers and brokers facilitating Customs and FDA clearance, ensuring compliant documentation is used by affiliated companies for imports
• Maintain master data for customs and foreign-trade, including but not limited to HS Codes, Country of Origin, Dual-Use/ECCN, and FDA codes, supporting accurate and efficient import and export processes
• Optimize documentation and processes, and assist management with audit processes and inquiries from CBP, FDA, Census, BIS, FCC, USDA, EPA, DOT, and other regulatory agencies
• Assist in, gathering and reporting metrics to support (trade/import/export) compliance insights and business intelligence
• Train in and lead HTS classifications and ECCN determinations, gaining proficiency in SAP and SAP GTS for managing holds on imported/exported goods and screening blocks
Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in business political science public governance law engineering or a related field
• 5 years of relevant experience in trade compliance or import/export operations
• Advanced knowledge of classifications export controls and licensing requirements
• Experience in FDA-regulated industries
• Knowledge of SAP GTS and MS Office applications including data management tools such as Excel Power BI or Tableau
