Job Title: Wind River Virtualization Engineer (Contract)

Location: Plano, Texas (Hybrid)

Contract Duration: 6-12 months

Pay Rate: $50-$60 per hour (DOE)

Job Description

Our client, located in Plano, Texas, is looking for an experienced Wind River Virtualization Engineer for a 6-12 month contract role. This position will primarily focus on a key project to migrate from VMware to Wind River virtualization technology. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience with Wind River products, strong expertise in virtualization, and familiarity with Kubernetes.

This is a hybrid role, allowing for both remote and on-site work, with a collaborative team environment. If you have a strong background in virtualization technologies and are excited about working on a migration project, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a critical technical initiative.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the migration from VMware to Wind River virtualization solutions.
• Design, configure, and deploy Wind River virtualization technologies, including Wind River Hypervisor and VxWorks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth transition and integration of the new virtualized environment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during and after the migration.
• Implement and optimize Kubernetes in the Wind River environment (preferred).
• Monitor system performance and make necessary adjustments for optimization.
• Provide ongoing support and documentation for Wind River virtualization solutions.
• Work closely with stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met in a timely manner.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Any experience with Wind River virtualization technologies (e.g., Wind River Hypervisor, VxWorks).
• Strong knowledge of virtualization concepts and technologies.
• Proven experience with VMware and cloud virtualization platforms.
• Ability to manage migration projects, particularly in transitioning from VMware to Wind River virtualization.
• Experience with Linux/Unix-based systems, shell scripting, and system administration.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex virtualization issues.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration in virtualized environments.
• Familiarity with cloud computing and distributed systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
