Position Overview:
The Operational Technology (OT) Specialist provides support for Port Arthur Manufacturing Complex (PAMC) OT users and systems while learning advanced IT/OT skills in specialized areas of interest. This role maintains, monitors, and implements control system networks/OT applications and other essential operational systems to ensure safety, efficiency and productivity.
Responsibilities:
- Support on-going hardware life-cycle refresh activities.
- Provide first level network/server/workstation troubleshooting support for Operations and OT users.
- Assist with control system application installation.
- Modify OT documentation as required.
- Perform regular reviews of applicable OT procedures and work instructions to ensure all are up-to-date and still applicable.
- Assist with patching, vulnerability, and anti-virus updates on OT assets.
- Utilize department ticketing system for scheduling and completing all work.
- Provide off-hour OT support as needed.
Experience and Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, or in a similar discipline
- Experience with Windows operating systems
- Skilled in troubleshooting and resolving network/computer issues
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to learn new IT/OT skills as required
- 2 years of experience working within IT/OT environments
- Experience with Active Directory
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Knowledgeable of different network topologies
- Awareness and experience with manufacturing applications
- Certification(s) in networking and/or general computer support
- General understanding of cybersecurity concepts and principles
Physical Requirements:
- Physical ability to work around and on industrial equipment, including frequent climbing of stairs and ladders
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (respirator, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, heeled boots, and hearing protection)
