Spheara seeks to hire full-time, experienced Battery Handlers to safely prepare and transport light electric vehicle (LEV) batteries between depots and charging locations within the New York City area, and then monitor the batteries while charging.
About the Position
Place batteries securely into transport cases and load/unload from company vehicles
Operate large company vehicles (sprinter/cargo vans) throughout the New York City area
Place batteries onto charging stations and monitor while charging
Follow all safety regulations and company policies and protocols
Maintain company vehicles to standards, complete pre/post checks on vehicles, and follow fleet procedures
About You
You bring previous experience as a driver of large vehicles, with an excellent safety record transporting items across busy, urban environments
You have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
You value safety in all work activities, following all safety regulations and policies/procedures
You provide a professional customer experience with all interactions, representing the company brand in a positive manner to both customers and the general public
You are dependable and follow an assigned schedule, exhibiting a strong work ethic and the ability to work autonomously with a high level of productivity and self-accountability
You can demonstrate the ability to lift and carry to 75 pounds, reach, stoop, bend, kneel, sit, and stand for extended periods throughout the workday and are comfortable working with electrical charging systems in a warehouse environment and transporting batteries
