Intentional Peer Support certification is strongly recommended but candidates with the right experience will also be considered.
- Program Coordination
- Oversee the daily operations of The LINC Center, ensuring a welcoming, safe, and recovery-oriented environment.
Peer Support Services
- Provide one-on-one peer support and facilitate group discussions, emphasizing hope and recovery.
- Coordinate and schedule peer support activities, workshops, and community events in collaboration with participants and staff.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for participants, community members, and other stakeholders.
- Manage center resources, including supplies, scheduling, and facilities.
- In absence of Center Manager, direct oversight of staff.
- Build meaningful relationships with participants, listening attentively to their needs and goals.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of activities, participant engagement, and services provided.
- Assist participants in identifying and navigating community resources and support.
- Promote self-advocacy and encourage participant involvement in decision-making and program planning.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures, including safety and confidentiality standards.
Leadership and Team Support
- Provide mentorship and guidance to other peer support staff and volunteers.
- Collaborate with the broader team to integrate peer support principles into organizational practices.
- Participate in supervision, team meetings, and ongoing professional development opportunities.
- Advocate for the values and practices of intentional peer support within the organization and community.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Manage center-related communications, such as outreach materials, newsletters, and social media updates.
- Track and report data on program impact and participant feedback to supervisors.
- Education and Certification:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework preferred.
Experience and Skills:
- Previous experience providing peer support, with demonstrated ability to build trust and foster connections.
- Strong understanding of intentional peer support principles and their application in a community setting.
- Certified Intentional Peer Support Specialist (CIPSS) certification required, or the ability to obtain provisional CIPSS certification within 6 months of hire and full certification within 12 months.
- Personal experience with mental health and/or substance use challenges, with a recovery story that guides peer relationships, is required.
- Ongoing maintenance of CIPSS Certification throughout employment is required.
- Ability to facilitate groups, workshops, or activities that promote recovery and well-being.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office and email communication.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Interest in Deaf culture and/or proficiency in American Sign Language is a plus. EOE
