Job Summary:
The Motor City Rockers are seeking an organized and enthusiastic Game Day Operations & Community Relations Coordinator to oversee the execution of game day events and community engagement initiatives. This role will play a vital part in creating a top-tier fan experience and strengthening the team's presence in the local community. The ideal candidate will have strong event coordination skills, a passion for hockey, and the ability to foster relationships with local organizations and fans.
Key Responsibilities:
Game Day Operations:
- Plan, organize, and execute all game day logistics, including arena setup, promotions, and special events.
- Manage game day staff and volunteers to ensure smooth event execution.
- Coordinate with internal departments, vendors, and arena personnel to enhance the overall fan experience.
- Oversee in-game entertainment, including promotions, intermission activities, and sponsor activations.
- Assist with ticketing, merchandise, and customer service functions as needed.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any operational issues that arise during games.
Community Relations:
- Develop and implement community outreach programs, including school visits, youth hockey partnerships, and charitable initiatives.
- Foster relationships with local businesses, schools, and non-profit organizations to enhance community engagement.
- Coordinate player appearances, mascot visits, and other community events to promote the Motor City Rockers brand.
- Manage donation requests and other community-based initiatives.
- Assist in marketing and social media efforts to highlight community involvement.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in sports management, event coordination, or community relations is preferred.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required for games and events.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with social media platforms.
- Experience working with volunteers and coordinating community outreach programs is a plus.
