Chassis Technician

THE ROLE:
Blue Compass RV is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Chassis, Oil, and Lube Technician to join our service team. This position is responsible for performing routine maintenance and light repairs on RV chassis, including oil changes, lubrication, inspections, and other related services to ensure optimal vehicle performance and customer satisfaction.

COMPENSATION: $30-$35 flat rate hour

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• Perform oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication services on various RV chassis.
• Conduct thorough inspections of chassis components, including brakes, suspension, and steering systems.
• Identify and report any mechanical issues or potential problems to the Service Advisor or Service Manager.
• Perform basic repairs and adjustments to ensure the safe and efficient operation of RVs.
• Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used.
• Operate equipment such as lifts, diagnostic tools, and hand tools safely and efficiently.
• Follow all company and manufacturer safety guidelines and protocols.
• Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the service bay and work area.
• Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with team members.

WHAT YOU CAN BRING TO THE TABLE:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in automotive or diesel technology preferred.
• Previous experience in an automotive or RV service environment is highly desirable.
• Basic knowledge of chassis components, lubricants, and preventive maintenance procedures.
• Ability to operate diagnostic equipment and interpret results.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working with RVs, heavy trucks, or similar vehicles.
• ASE certification or equivalent credentials are a plus.
• Familiarity with manufacturer maintenance guidelines and schedules.

Working Conditions:

• Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to various weather conditions.
• May require occasional evening or weekend work for special projects or emergencies.
