Director, Supply Chain

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop strategic sourcing plan for new capabilities, minimizing the risk of sole sourcing & ensuring our operations have conforming material when they need it.
- Proactively source, qualify, and negotiate purchases with suppliers for product bill of materials, new engineering projects, and production & facility consumables.
- Reduce our bill of material costs annually without compromising vendor performance or product quality.
- Develop and implement SIOP and MRP processes.
- Facilitate 'Make vs Buy' investment analysis and execute on strategy.
- This role will have oversight of the following teams: procurement, supplier quality, powder operations, logistics.
Expected Performance Outcomes (in 12-24 months):
- Effective SIOP & MRP processes implemented.
- Supplier on-time delivery of 98% or better each year to our requested delivery dates (12 Months).
- Zero defect quality program with each of our critical vendors (24 Months).
- Time to quote for all BOM materials and services less than 48 hours (12 Months).
- Target 3-5% annual reduction in purchase price variance for all purchased components and supplies both on and off the bill of material (12 Months).
- Customer on-time delivery of 95% or better to their requested delivery dates (12 months).
Required Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Science/Engineering or Supply Chain. MBA Preferred.
- 10 years of progressive experience in global strategic sourcing, procurement management and supply chain or similar function in a complex, multi-site enterprise; international experience preferred.
- 5 years of leadership experience at a director level.
- Must be an exceptional negotiator.
- Capable of operating autonomously on complex technical specifications.
- Knowledge of lean procurement methods and practices.
Deep knowledge of materials, components and assemblies used in manufacturing is required. Knowledge of filtration/flow control products needs and regulatory and industry standards (Semiconductor, Energy, Healthcare or Aerospace) is a plus. Certification through the institute of supply management, ISM, as a certified purchasing manager or a certified professional in supply management is preferred.
