This role will focus on providing controls for automated equipment, with key responsibilities in PLC and HMI programming, troubleshooting network commissioning, and equipment integration. The ideal candidate will be based out of either our Old Fort, NC or Spartanburg, SC facility and must be willing to travel up to 50%, including trips to Mexico

This role will focus on providing controls for automated equipment, with key responsibilities in PLC and HMI programming, troubleshooting network commissioning, and equipment integration. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, controls, devices, and systems to enhance overall productivity and reduce downtime
- Troubleshoot and work with Allen-Bradley PLCs (500, RS Logix, Micro Logix, Compact Logix, Control Logix) and Siemens PLC programming to ensure optimal system performance
- Identify, research, and resolve issues related to scrap, downtime, and equipment deficiencies to improve process reliability
- Lead the implementation of process changes, new automation projects, and installation of new equipment at various locations, including Mexico
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, maintenance, quality, and operations, to address equipment performance issues and optimize plant processes
- Develop and maintain electrical and control schematics while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards
- Provide technical support for system commissioning, start-ups, and ongoing maintenance both locally and internationally
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (preferred)
- 5 years of experience in automation controls/electrical engineering
- Strong proficiency in PLC and HMI programming, particularly with Allen-Bradley and Siemens systems
- Mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills for complex automation systems
- Experience with Ethernet/IP Industrial Protocol, vision sensors, and barcode scanning systems
- Proven ability to identify root causes of issues, implement solutions, and drive continuous improvement
- Flexibility to work varying hours and travel up to 50%, including international travel to Mexico
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings (mechanical drawings would be a bonus) and control schematics
- Experience working with robotic systems and robot controllers
- Hands-on Electrical troubleshooting and installation experience
- Arc Flash and Electrical Safety knowledge (OSHA 1910, NFPA 70E, NEC Standards)
- Electrical journeyman card is a plus
- Experience with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) systems is a plus
- Experience with smart cameras (e.g., Keyence, Cognex, Banner) is a plus
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus but not required
