Description:
- The MOTW Barista position focuses on preparing drinks that are not limited to coffee,
teas, smoothies and chai. While also providing excellent customer service. We pride
ourselves on our customer service and it gives us the joy to know that our own
baristas care for our customers. Barista’s have the opportunity to grow with the
company based on performance scores and personal growth.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Greeting Customers as they walk into the shop
- Educating customers on our drink and pastry/ food menu
- Up-selling special items on the menu
- Cashier duties
- Taking orders via the clover system writing drink orders on cups
- Preparing pastries for in-house or to-go orders
- Completing Opening, During the day, and Closing procedures successfully
posting fully checked off procedures in their designated tab on slack
- Maintaining a clean space behind the bar and in the common cafe areas at all times.
- Restock and put away any inventory that may be delivered to the shop. This
includes all orders, Items dropped off by other team members and the owner, any other future companies we may work with on deliveries.
- Check if brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs
- Comply with health and safety regulations
- Maintaining a positive work environment here at MOTW with fellow employees,
customers and owners: If you have an issue with anything please refer to
communicating with the manager.
- There should be no negative commentary at MOTW, we pride ourselves on having a fun
work environment. The last thing we want is drama at the workplace.
- Communicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new menu items
- Know your own weaknesses and strengths and work around it with your
teammates: If you are stronger behind the cash register then take the lead on taking
orders. If you think you are stronger at making drinks and quicker then take the lead
in a kind manner. But from time to time push yourself to grow in all the areas at the
coffee shop.
- There will be constant changes made while working here at MOTW, we require
employees to be flexible and understanding as systems and processes may change.
- Deep cleaning tasks will be assigned from time to time, when the store is slow, or
just when needed.
- Arrive on time to all shifts
Work Attire
Always come to the job looking presentably, as first impressions with customers are always important.
- No Ripped jeans
- No crop tops
- Closed-toe shoes, no sandals or slides unless it covers the toes
- No graphic tees that may present political views or profanity
- Wear uniform, or solid black option (Polo, long sleeve, tee shirt)
As a Shift Leader, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our establishment during your assigned shift. You will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities, managing the team, and providing excellent customer service. Your attention to detail, strong leadership skills, and ability to handle various tasks simultaneously will contribute to the success of our business.
Please note that this is not an entry-level position. Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
