Position Overview
We are seeking a Flooring Estimator to join our team. This role involves visiting job sites to take accurate measurements, creating estimates, and recommending flooring solutions t our customers. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Visit job sites (homes, businesses, commercial spaces, etc.) to take precise measurements using tape measures and laser tools.
- Create accurate estimates based on job-site measurements and communicate these details to the office team.
- Learn and stay updated on our products, prices, installation services, and offerings.
- Recommend and sell appropriate products to customers, offering upgrades and educating them on suitable flooring solutions.
- Enter estimates into our computer system, including using estimating software for commercial floor plans.
- Schedule and coordinate measurements with customers using tools like Google Calendar and Maps.
- Occasionally assist with minor flooring repairs while on-site (e.g. sealing carpet seams, fixing vinyl tears)
- Communicated effectively with customers, installers, and team members to ensure smooth operations.
- Work in the showroom to assist customers as needed.
- Drive a company vehicle to job sites and maintain a tight, efficient schedule.
Experience
- 5 years proven experience as an Estimator or related occupation in the construction industry is essential.
- Strong knowledge of construction principles and practices.
- Familiarity with Quickbooks, Excel, Google Maps, Google Calendar, and estimating software like Measure Square is helpful but not required.
- Experience maintaining schedules and staying organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and other technical documents.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders on construction sites.

- Comfortable with and professional when interacting with customers in their homes or businesses.
- Adaptable to working in varied environments (e.g. homes with pets, construction sites, etc.)

Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., with occasional rotating Saturdays (once a month)
