Serving nearly 400 students annually, ELP is more than just an educational enrichment opportunity—it's a vital lifeline fostering academic achievement, emotional well-being, and vibrant community connections. Our intentionally layered staffing model creates a dynamic and supportive environment that empowers team members at every level—from high school and college students stepping into leadership roles, to experienced educators who guide curriculum and mentor emerging professionals. Pay Rate: $17.50/hour Eligible Age: 18 years and older Overview: Academic Enrichment Independent Support staff are adult team members who play a vital role in supporting the after-school experience. AEIS staff work under the direction of lead teachers and program coordinators, offering hands-on assistance while developing the foundational skills of future program leaders. Responsibilities: * Provide consistent support within ELP classrooms and enrichment settings * Actively engage with students in academic, recreational, and creative activities * Assist with snack preparation and clean-up * Participate in movement and outdoor play activities with students * Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment * Model professionalism, kindness, and respectful communication * Work both independently and as part of a team to meet the needs of students Licensing Considerations: AEIS staff may be alone with students and are considered qualified per CDD regulations Leadership Pathway: AEIS staff are not required to develop curriculum or lead independent activities. However, they are encouraged to begin experimenting with lesson ideas and leadership opportunities in order to build toward a future Academic Enrichment Program Support (AEPS) role
