SMT Assembler-Sterling, MA

Westaff is looking for a SMT Assembler in the Sterling, MA! 
Location: Sterling, MA 
Shift: 10-hour shifts Monday-Friday 6:00am – 4:30pm 
Payrate: $22-$28/hour depending on experience
As an SMT Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating surface mount technology equipment to assemble electronic components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs). 
Key Responsibilities:
•    Set up and operate SMT equipment, including pick-and-place machines, solder paste printers, and reflow ovens.
•    Load and unload PCBs, components, and materials into the SMT equipment.
•    Inspect and verify the placement of components to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.
•    Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions or production issues in a timely manner.
•    Monitor and maintain proper levels of solder paste, flux, and other materials to ensure consistent production flow.
•    Perform quality checks on finished assemblies to identify defects or discrepancies.
•    Document and maintain production records, including machine settings, production output, and quality reports.
•    Work with the production team to improve assembly processes and ensure efficient production.
•    Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
•    Assist in maintaining equipment and performing routine maintenance as needed.

Qualifications:
•    High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in electronics or related field is a plus.
•    Previous experience as an SMT Operator or in a similar electronics manufacturing role preferred.
•    Strong understanding of SMT equipment, components, and production processes.
•    Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions
