We are looking for a Program Manager who will lead a team supporting AFRL RVE projects, which include conducting experiments on high-altitude balloons; design, A&IT, and operations of small to EELV Secondary Payload Adapter (ESPA) Grande sized satellites; development of spacecraft and space payload representative digital models or "twins"; and streamlining the acquisition process between the stages of analysis, prototyping, enterprise testing, and establishment of programs of record (PORs).
The best fit for this role will have extensive PM experience leading or supporting Department of Defense (DoD) programs, preferably space programs / projects, with a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, space systems, space operations, and systems engineering principles and practices. You will have the opportunity to leverage your experience with developing space mission system hardware - prototyping, assembly integration & testing (AI&T), and flight operations.
You will oversee and lead a diverse team supporting the Air Force Research Laboratory Space Vehicle Directorate (AFRL RV) to demonstrate the viability of innovative space technologies as well as provide cradle-to-grave support to ground, high-altitude balloon, near-space, and spaceflight experiments. In this role, you will report directly to the Vice President, Space & Defense Services, and directly support and be accountable to AFRL RV's Integrated Experiments and Evaluation (RVE) division chief located at Kirtland Air Force Base (AFB) in Albuquerque, NM.
As the Program Manager, you will be responsible for :
- Directly accountable for contract support to the AFRL RVE Division Chief.
- Report directly to the company VP, Space & Defense Services.
- Manage and report on contract performance, which includes cost, schedule, technical performance, and risk associated with all RVE activities tasked for support by the RVE Division Chief in accordance with the contract.
- Ensure availability and readiness of RVE facilities and government furnished equipment (GFE).
- Provide day-to-day management of the contractor team and vendors / suppliers.
- Coordinate contractor work with government activities to execute RVE's missions, objectives, and goals.
- Responsible for the overall execution performance of assigned Program
