EXOTICS DEPARTMENT HEAD
We are looking for a board-certified/residency trained Exotics Veterinarian who is patient-focused, has excellent organization, teamwork and communication skills, and embodies our core values to join our non-corporate Primary Care, Emergency, and Specialty hospital as the Head of our Exotics Department. The successful candidate will be a knowledgeable and skilled Exotics practitioner who can communicate effectively with all members of the Department and hospital, including delegation of tasks and follow-up to promote the growth of the Department and hospital. The Exotics Department Head reports to the Medical Director and the Exotics Veterinarians report to the Exotics Department Head.
Our Exotics Department consists of 3 Exotics Veterinarians, 1 Veterinary Technician Specialist in Companion Animal Exotics, and several dedicated veterinary technicians and assistants.

We are fully equipped with a 64 Slice CT scanner, 1.5 Tesla MRI, fluoroscopy, endoscopic equipment, a fully integrated in-house laboratory, advanced and minimally invasive surgical suites, ultrasound, digital radiography, therapy laser, surgical laser, oxygen cages, chemotherapy hood, and fully stocked pharmacy.
Our veterinary hospital is located in Mount Laurel, NJ which is a convenient 20-25 minute commute from Philadelphia. We are located 1 hour from New York City and the New Jersey shore towns, making our area an excellent choice for work and play!

RESPONSIBILITES:
The Exotics Department Head is responsible for providing leadership to the Exotics department and ensuring compliance relating to the practice of veterinary medicine and the hospital’s standards of care by department team members. The Exotics Department Head is also responsible for creating an environment of teamwork in which quality medicine is delivered.
Under the direction of Medical Director and Hospital Owner, the Exotics Department Head will collaborate with the other Department Heads to plan, direct, and coordinate positive change within the Exotics Department and MLAH and oversee the standards of care and profitable operations of the Exotics Department. Department Heads play a significant role in fulfilling MLAH's mission, vision, and core values as well as helping create direction for the practice.
The Department Head may be required to work additional hours beyond a regular clinical work schedule to accomplish the duties of the Specialty Department Head position.
