The Manager of Clinical Informatics and Training is responsible for the implementation of software configurations, workflow development, clinical reporting development, deployment and support of the software for Mount Nittany Health. The Manager will interact directly with Providers and Clinic staff to configure, test, train, implement and support the use of Epic and other clinical systems. Working in close partnership with other IT managers and with colleagues across the organization, the manager delivers and continuously enhances informatics and education services and programs. The manager effectively partners with operational colleagues to ensure successful organizational change management, adoption of solutions, and value realization. The manager leads and oversees the optimization of the EHR system to enhance clinical workflows, improve user experience, and ensure alignment with organization goals. The manager facilitates governance committees or councils to prioritize system enhancements, compliance requirements and industry standards. The manager is also responsible for, in partnership with other managers, ensuring clinical applications meet all regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, CMS, Meaningful Use and MIPS, and other healthcare industry standards.

2) Professionalism

- Oversee and lead deployment of new modules of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) in specified locations, consulting with staff and departments in customizing software and altering workflow processes in the daily operation of the EHR.
- Implements and supports systems that automate the capture of clinical encounter information and its subsequent retrieval meeting regulatory requirements.
- Serves as IS lead for all regulatory programs and quality improvement initiatives.
- Trains new hires and existing staff (providers and clinical staff) in the use of the EHR.
- Trains all new hires and existing staff on interfaces/applications.
- Training end users on optimal workflows related to the EHR system using the Epic training software.
- Delivers trainings in both formal (e.g. classroom), or informal (e.g. in clinic) settings.
- Assist the Directors in activities related to project governance, decision-making, and execution of strategic initiatives to ensure successful deployment of software solutions
- Lead cross-functional project teams, ensuring effective communication, collaboration and conflict resolution among stakeholders
- Collaborate with operators across the health system to highlight and encourage innovative solutions to help streamline processes and improve automation/standardization
- Work in conjunction with other IT Department Directors to maintain comprehensive documentation of project processes, decisions and changes
- Lead conversion from implementation governance to systems optimization governance in conjunction with the conclusion of go-live activities. Lead the communications strategy and overall organization of the shift in focus
- Utilize project management resources and internal health system training team to develop a robust approach to training for end users and IS analysts
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, IT staff and other operational stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure appropriate technological solutions to shared problems
- Work in conjunction with other IT Managers to facilitate and participate in meetings, workshops and training sessions to promote understanding and adoption of the EHR system and post-live optimization and prioritization
- Maintains and promotes a positive customer service relationship with end users in a manner that encourages collaboration and communication activities to solve problems and create a system-supported approach to technology implementation
- Maintains an ongoing awareness of developments in information technology and their potential applications within the Health System, with particular focus on innovative solutions being implemented within other health care systems with success.

- Coordinates technical and contractual relationships with external physician organizations which permit remote access to the HCIS for clinical and other purposes. Ensures compliance with data security requirements of those contractual relationships.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:
1) Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, Project Management, or a related field required.
2) Master’s Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or equivalent preparation preferred.
Experience:
1) Previous leadership experience with EHR implementation and management
2) Minimum of 5 years of experience in EHR application support or clinical informatics role
3) Strong knowledge of EHR systems, healthcare workflows, and regulatory requirements
