Job Title : Nurse Educator
Job Specialty : Nursing Education with Behavioral Health Background
Job Duration : 14 months
Shift : Monday-Friday; must be flexible
Guaranteed Hours : 37.50 per week
Experience : Minimum 1-2 years as a nurse educator with behavioral health background / knowledge
License : Licensed as a registered nurse with current registration in New York State
Certifications : Active CPI or PMCS required prior to offer; Professional Board certification in clinical specialty or staff development recommended
Must-Have : BSN required, MSN preferred
Job Description :
- Lead nursing practice using the Professional Practice Model of Relationship Centered Care and the Care Delivery Model of Modified Primary Nursing to promote patient experience.
- Demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of Purposeful Hourly Rounding (PHR) and serve as a role model for expected behaviors.
- Integrate PHR into clinical activities to enhance Relationship Centered Care.
- Validate staff competency in PHR and provide consistent, meaningful feedback with more focused feedback as needed.
- Communicate quantitative and qualitative information regarding the patient experience to staff and the Interdisciplinary Patient Care Team.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Nurse Manager / Assistant Nurse Manager / physician team and escalate concerns as appropriate.
- Follow up on patient concerns in a timely manner and provide service recovery as needed.
- Exhibit caring, respect, compassion, empathy, and active listening through dialogue, body language, and actions.
- Maintain relevant clinical experience in assigned nursing practice areas.
- Promote interpersonal relationships and communicate effectively to solve problems.
- Demonstrate ability to work in a team with effective communication and critical thinking skills.
- Display physical and cognitive ability to assess patient status and perform clinical procedures.
- Possess the physical and mental health necessary to care for acutely ill patients with a variety of diagnoses and behaviors regularly.
- Perform manual dexterity tasks such as venipuncture, urinary catheterization, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation efficiently.
