Job Title : X-Ray Technician

License : New York State Licensed Radiologic Technologist
Certifications : American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT Certified)
Must-Have : Competency in performing diagnostic procedures, excellent communication skills, quality focus, planning, people skills, dependability, creating a safe, effective environment
Job Description :
- Operate or oversee the operation of radiologic and magnetic imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images of the body.
- Prepare patients for radiological procedures and maintain safety measures to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Establish personal rapport with patients to identify service requirements and reduce anxiety by providing explanations and answering questions.
- Position patients and adjust immobilization devices and equipment controls to set exposure factors.
- Minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff by utilizing protective techniques and devices.
- Adhere to infection control policies and procedures.
- Maintain the production and quality of radiographs by following established standards and processing radiographs.
- Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records, including completing and verifying exams.
- Perform preventive maintenance on radiology equipment and follow manufacturer instructions for troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Manage radiology supplies inventory to anticipate needs and maintain stock.
- Comply with procedures, rules, and regulations to ensure a safe and clean working environment.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by meeting regulatory CME requirements, attending educational workshops, and participating in professional societies.
- Contribute to team efforts as needed and complete yearly Age Specific Competency evaluations.
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
