Job Description
Job Title : CT Technologist
Job Specialty : Radiology CAT Scan - MSB
Job Duration : 13 weeks
Shift : 8am-4pm Monday to Friday, every 3rd weekend of the month
Guaranteed Hours : 37.50 hours per week
Experience : At least 1 year of CT experience
License : New York State License (L.R.T)
Certifications : American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and current CT certification, BLS certification
Must-Have : English proficiency (Read, Write, Speak)
Job Description :
- Utilize appropriate kV and mA techniques to ensure quality diagnostic CT images.
- Perform daily quality control calibration checks on all equipment to ensure proper calibration and operation before any patient study.
- Inject patients with radioactive material as per physician's orders, following the prescribed protocol.
- Adhere to department documentation policies by completing all logs, manuals, charge documents, and reporting equipment problems to comply with regulatory agencies.
- Conduct quality control, quality assurance, and safety tests while following radiation safety guidelines to comply with the ALARA principle.
- Maintain, develop, and retrieve patient films and electronic data for Radiologist interpretation.
- Order patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses 1-day prior to use.
- Receive radiopharmaceuticals on the day of delivery and verify proper receipt as per policy and procedure. Verify activity level of doses prior to administration.
- Perform CT procedures according to prescribed protocols to ensure uniformity and accuracy.
- Exercise appropriate judgment to assess and respond to patients' needs before, during, and after visits in the Radiology department.
