Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Specialty : Neuro Surgical Unit

Job Duration : 14 Weeks

Shift : Night Shift, 7 : 00 PM - 7 : 30 AM, Every Other Weekend Required

Guaranteed Hours : 34.50 Hours

Experience : Minimum 2 Years in Med Surg Required, Neuro Experience Preferred but Not Required

License : New York State RN License

Certifications : BLS, ACLS

Must-Have : Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred; Associate degree considered with relevant experience or active matriculation in a BSN program. EPIC experience highly preferred.

Job Description :

• Delivers patient care using the tenets of Relationship Centered Care and nursing process based on theory, research, evidence-based practice, and approved organizational standards.
• Assesses and evaluates patient care needs, applying critical thinking in management.
• Integrates relevant assessment and intervention skills in nursing care.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary healthcare team for development, implementation, and evaluation of care plan.
• Prioritizes patient care including teaching, coaching, and planning for post-hospital care.
• Educates patients and caregivers on care plan, transition of care, health promotion, and disease prevention.
• Communicates effectively and professionally with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Manages assignments under Modified Primary Nursing model and uses resources effectively.
• Role models the principles of Relationship Centered Care through actions like Admission Welcome, Bedside Shift Report, and Purposeful Hourly Rounding.
• Considers patient's values, preferences, cultural diversity, and knowledge in all care aspects.
• Establishes therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
• Uses evidence-based practices to understand patients' perceptions of care.
• Initiates service recovery for concerns and escalates as needed.
• Demonstrates caring, respect, compassion, and active listening.
• Practices safe and efficient patient-centered care, identifying areas for improvement.
• Demonstrates clinical skills and knowledge crucial to quality and safety.
• Implements process improvement strategies based on institutional procedures.
• Engages in peer and institutional review processes.
• Collaborates on quality improvement projects, evidence-based practice activities, and research studies.
