The School of Arts & Sciences at Mount St. Joseph University invites applications for a full-time (nine-month), tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Art Education and Fine Arts position, beginning August 2025. The successful candidate will teach in our undergraduate Art Education and Fine Arts programs. Primary responsibilities include teaching courses in undergraduate art education/fine arts, advising art education students through the process including the School of Education system, recruiting and retaining students in the art education program as well as in the greater art & design areas, working with area art teachers for placements of MSJ students, participating in the Ohio Art Education Association (OAEA) for the success of our preservice art educators, and modeling an engaged art educator in the community. Other duties include advising, mentoring, participating in events and contests, and supporting departmental, school, and university needs.
Responsibilities Include
The successful candidate will minimally hold a terminal degree in art education and/or fine art (ABD candidates are welcome to apply). Preference will be given to candidates with a proven undergraduate and/or graduate teaching record, evidence of work in the K-12 teaching arena, and an established portfolio of personal and student work.
