What are the responsibilities and job description for the Durango Mountain Utility Business Manager (Year Round Position) position at Mountain Capital Partners?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Management of Durango Mountain Utilities: (currently holds or has ability to obtain a propane operators certification within 6-12 months of hire date -- required)
--Colorado Public Utility Commission Propane Liaison:
Undertake PUC relationship management and regulatory compliance to include gas cost analysis, inventory management via analysis of volume/temperature, periodic filing of required reports, including the annual tariff adjustment, year-end report (due April) and gas cost analysis (due November). Facilitate and assure PUC compliance/approval, dedications and easements. Serve as primary point of contact for consultants and legal counsel for PUC propane matters. Remain up-to-date and current on PUC and other propane related rules and regulations.
--DMU Propane system:
Prior knowledge and experience working with underground gas service infrastructure and systems. DMU is growing rapidly and requires extensive knowledge of PUC regulations for growth. Overseeing PUC required maintenance procedures, tracking work and filing.
--DMU Communications (Cable TV, Internet and Phone services):
Aligned with the Purgatory Resort IT Department, manage the customer database, the transfer of services, changes to service, service interruptions and issues, infrastructure and planning for future expansion/growth, review and approval of customer billing and interfacing with accounting. Prior technical knowledge and experience with Cable TV, Internet and Phone infrastructure strongly desired.
--DMU Administration & Financial Management:
Aligned with the Community Services team and Accounting Manager, facilitate the annual review and approval of the DMU/Purgatory Recreation I, LLC (PRI) contract/agreement. Undertake DMU record keeping in compliance with PUC requirements and other rules/regulations. Facilitate the DMU budget development process and track financial progress through review of monthly financial statements/reports to assure achievement of DMU revenue, expense and profit targets. Facilitate DMU strategic planning to accommodate Resort development and growth by planning infrastructure expansion and enhancements. Coordinate DMU marketing and customer outreach communications. Organize and implement necessary training and certification opportunities for DMU and related PRI personnel.
