A Food Service Worker plates dishes and completes basic food-prepping tasks for a cafeteria. Their main duties include preparing and cooking food in a specific station, cleaning up prep areas, and making sure the kitchen is stocked.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with customers to ensure that orders are completed according to guests' requests and delivered on time.
- Wash and clean the kitchen and cooking utensils and store the equipment at the end of shifts.
- Ensure that the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations.
Job Qualifications
- Superior dexterity skills to operate cutting tools quickly and safely.
- Keen understanding of industry-standard best cooking and preparation practices.
- Familiarity with safe and sanitary food handling and preparation.
- Certified in proper good handling, typically through a ServSafe Certification.
- Excellent organizational, time management, multitasking, and teamwork skills.
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
