Vehicle Maintenance Technician I
General Purpose
Under general supervision, the Vehicle Maintenance Technician I position performs skilled preventative, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and troubleshooting. This includes servicing, inspection and repair to Purgatory Resort vehicles (PRM) and mobile equipment on a continuing and revolving basis. This can include major repairs and routine, preventative maintenance. Job Description
Essential Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Service and repair company vehicles and stationary equipment as directed.
- Ensure OSHA compliance and all safety guidelines are being followed and adhered to.
- Complete incoming work orders in a timely fashion.
- Submit daily work reports detailing what projects were initiated, fulfilled and completed.
- Special projects as assigned by the Supervisor are completed to satisfaction.
- Periodical inspection of company vehicles for preventative maintenance.
- Inspect equipment function.
- Must have their own tools.

Job Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, tools and equipment. Must possess solid knowledge of vehicle operation; knowledge of passenger trucks and snowmobiles. Alertness, precision, memory, patience, auditory, tactical and visual discrimination is necessary to this position
Education or Formal Training: Current ASE or ability to pass an ASE test
Vehicle Qualification: Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a background check with a clean driving record.
Experience: Mechanical background and/or aptitude or some trade school.
Availability: Must be able to commit to a semi flexible work schedule. Flexibility regarding covering shifts is preferred. Must have snow sports gear in a safe, usable condition that will pass a standard equipment check.
Material and Equipment Directly Used: Trucks, vans, buses, heavy equipment, grooming equipment, snowmobiles, steam cleaner, hand tools, air tools, electric grinders, drill press, ac/dc welder, lubricants and solvent tank.
Working Environment/ Physical Activities:
60% of the work day is spent indoors and 40% is spent outdoors, all seasons, in constantly changing weather conditions including icy and wet conditions with oil slicks present. 75% of the work day is spent walking. Frequently lifting parts and components weighing up to 75 pounds, carrying objects up to 30 pounds, and occasionally pushing disabled vehicles weighing up to 2000 pounds. Occasionally handling the controls for equipment operation. Working conditions and potential hazards include high amperage/high voltage electrical, welding flash, noxious fumes, and petroleum distillates. Noise levels reach 60-110 decibels for up to 80% of the work day.
Frequently stooping, climbing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, fingering, and feeling objects. Occasionally climbing, balancing, and crawling. Constantly handling objects. Near and far acuity, depth perception, accommodation, and field of vision necessary.
This is a non-skiing position.
Salary : $17 - $21
