Mountain Crane Service, LLC is looking for a highly skilled and detailed Project Accountant to support financial operations for our wind energy projects. This role requires strong project accounting experience, particularly in project accruals, cost tracking, and financial performance reporting.
The ideal candidate will have advanced excel skills, experience working with Procore, and familiarity with NetSuite or Oracle ERP. This candidate will be able to analyze project costs, ensure financial accuracy, and provide meaningful insights to help drive decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee project accounting functions, including job cost management, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Use Procore to track contracts, budgets, and project progress.
- Prepare and manage the Schedule of Values (SOV), ensuring alignment with milestones and payment terms.
- Monitor project financial performance, identify variances, and implement corrective actions.
- Generate financial reports to provide stakeholders with clear financial insights.
- Manage billing processes, including progress billings, retention and financial invoicing.
- Reconcile project accounts and resolve discrepancies with vendors, subcontractors, and clients.
- Collect, review, and track lien waivers and required deliverables from subcontractors to ensure compliance with project and contractual requirements.
- Support internal and external audits related to project financials.
- Assist in financial modeling and forecasting for future projects.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in project or job cost accounting, preferably in construction or industrial services.
- Understanding of and ability to analyze and report on project financial performance including:
- Cost structures and Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS)
- Tracking planned vs. actual project costs (BCWP vs. ACWP)
- Evaluating cost efficiency through Cost Performance Index (CPI and trend analysis)
- Conducting forecasting and variance analysis.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with project managers, accounting teams, external stakeholders.
- Experience with wind energy or renewable energy project is a plus, but not required.

Pay: $95,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
